Case Study: The Victoria Department of Health Tutorial Series for Local Council Officer - Food Safety Management Policy

When the Victorian Department of Health commissioned our video production company for a series of tutorial videos on food safety management policy, we understood the importance of creating engaging and informative content specifically tailored to Victoria's local council staff. From advice of scriptwriting to post-production, our team delivered a captivating, educational, and visually appealing series that has the potential to enhance the way local council staff understand and implement food safety management policies. In this case study, we outline our process and highlight the key elements that contributed to the project's success, showcasing our expertise in crafting specialised content for professional audiences.

Project Overview

The Department of Health required a series of tutorial videos to educate Victoria's local council officer on various aspects of food safety management policy. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure that each video was tailored to their specific needs and budget constraints. The final product included multiple videos and podcasts.

Here is one of the final videos:

Our collaboration with the Department of Health began with a thorough understanding of their vision goals, and target audience for the food safety management policy education videos. We worked with the client to finalize the script, ensuring that it was engaging and easy to understand for local council staff (client draft the script, we helped to make the scripts more “video-style”). Our team then created a detailed lighting plan and identified the perfect location for filming, keeping in mind the client's budget and vision for the tutorial video series.

Equipped with two Canon Cinema cameras, our team filmed the tutorial videos with precision and professionalism.

Due to the file size and the challenge of computer processing speed during post-production, many production companies use DSLRs and deliver only 1080p files.

We always use cinema cameras to shoot videos in highest-quality and deliver videos in 4K resolution, providing the best possible image quality for our clients, regardless of the video's subject matter.

In this project, in order to follow the department's guideline, we delivered 1080p files which are down-sampled from 4K.

Our experienced Director of Photography captured dynamic shots that kept the viewer engaged while effectively conveying essential food safety management information. To further enhance the visual quality.

We employed a variety of professional lighting equipment to create the ideal ambiance for each scene.

Lights we used in the shoot.

Big key light brings a nice skin tone.

We also paid close attention to audio quality, ensuring that the sound was clear and consistent throughout the tutorial video series.

Separate Audio Recording

Once the footage was captured, our team of skilled editors began the process of assembling the final food safety management policy education video. We carefully selected background music that complemented the content and set the right tone for each tutorial. Our colourists then meticulously graded the footage, ensuring that each video had a consistent and visually appealing aesthetic.

Adjust the audio level in Post-Production

To streamline the review process and ensure clear communication with the client, we used latest technology for feedback and adjustments. By providing timecode-baked rough cuts, we were able to fully understand the client's needs and avoid any misunderstandings or unnecessary back-and-forth. This workflow not only saved the client's time but also facilitated a more efficient editing process. Our professional colour grading will take your video image quality to the next level.
